The need for improved detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer is ongoing. It is the Cancer Research Collaborations vision to facilitate and foster innovation and innovative strategies by working with many partners who are similarly committed to finding new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. The CRC builds upon the work of the Breastlink Research Group, which has connected patients with research entities for more than 20 years.

One way that this was done was by providing patients access to clinical trials to evaluate new research treatments for their disease before they are widely available. Many of the medical and surgical treatments used today in fighting cancer are the result of what has been learned through clinical research trials. Current clinical trials will help determine many of the treatments that will be used in the future. The back bone of our experience has been with breast cancer.
